How do you picture a security response?

In the Johnson Controls Detect360 film, a white model city sits inside a red ring. The buildings give the viewer a place to look. The line introduces something a camera cannot easily capture: how an event in one location can matter to people elsewhere. The film pairs 3D animation with motion graphics to tell that physical-security story.

Why start with the city?

At street level, a camera sees one building at a time. From above, the viewer can read the whole site in a moment. Against the pale buildings, the red line is easy to follow. That change in scale gives the audience a way into detection, communication and response before they need to understand the technical vocabulary.

Choosing a format for a security product

If a buyer needs to learn where to click, showing the interface is useful. If the first question is how a system fits into a building or a wider response, animation can establish the setting first. For a similar brief, we would start with one event, identify who needs to hear about it and agree what the viewer should understand by the end.
